Monthly Reading With Bookroo
If you know me personally, or have followed my blog or my Instagram account for any amount of time, you are likely aware of my love for BOOKS and literacy for little readers.
I was so thrilled to come across this awesome, affordable, and convenient monthly subscription book box program called Bookroo. Monthly book boxes are such a fun way to build your child's library, get them excited about reading, and they also make for a unique gift idea. We tried out one of their monthly boxes and I can't wait to share about it with you all.
[ The Packaging ]
The first thing I want to share about Bookroo is that they come in the cutest box that displays their bookroo bear logo. Kids will spot this packaging from a mile away on their front door step. On top of that, opening the box is like Christmas morning because each individual book comes wrapped. How exciting for littles to get to unwrap a couple of brand new books, sent to their door just for them, each month?! Kade enjoyed unwrapping his books even at just a year old.

We tried out one of their spring board book boxes and received 3 sweet new board books. The titles in our box were "Who Wears What?," "Hopper & Wilson," and my favorite, "Love You, Hug You, Read to You." None of these books were books I had ever seen or heard of, which made it that much more fun.
"Who Wears What?" is a touch and feel book with an awesome variety of different, unique textures. Each page features a different animal wearing something different from shiny rain boots to sparkly jewels.
"Hopper & Wilson" is the CUTEST story about friendship with the most beautiful watercolor illustrations. This one is slightly on the longer side for Kade's attention span these days, but I still read it aloud to him in the background sometimes while he is playing. I am excited for him to grow with this story and be able to sit with me and understand more of it as he gets older.
"Love You, Hug You, Read to You" has quickly become one of my favorite books to read to Kade. The beginning and end are the same and they both say "There are three things I'll always do, love you, hug you, read to you." Could you not just cry? Maybe that's just me and my mom hormones but come on. This book also has animals, which we love, is all about reading to littles at any time of day, it rhymes, ANNNDDD.... it includes simple comprehension questions on each page [and all the primary teachers rejoiced]. I am so excited to use those questions as a way to incorporate conversation with Kade when reading this book as he grows and continues to develop his vocabulary and comprehension.
[ The Pricing ]
Ok, let's get down to business because I know you're all wondering... "yea, but how much?" This is the best part. Ok maybe not because the books are pretty great but this is too. They are so affordable, in comparison to what you would typically pay for nice new books off the shelf at a Target or a Barnes & Noble.
First of all, you can select either the Picture Book Box which is great for ages 2-6 and contains 2 pictures books, or the Board Book Box which is great for ages 0-2 and contains 3 board books.
Second of all, you can subscribe to a whole year [12-months of books] for only $15.99/month + $5 shipping. If you don't want to subscribe for the whole year, they give you the option to subscribe for one month at a time, 3 months, or 6 months.
We live out of state from Kade's grandparents who love to spoil him. Purchasing a subscription through Bookroo is a great way for long distance relatives to spoil their loved one no matter where they are. A book subscription is also a fun gift idea for a baby shower or a first birthday.
You can use the code ' MISS ' to get 15% off your order, just for reading to the end of this post. ;)
