5 Reasons to Use Basic Invite for Your Holiday Cards

5 Reasons to Use Basic Invite for Your Holiday Cards

Ever since I was little, I would get SO excited to see the Christmas cards that came in the mail around the holidays. My mom used to display them up our staircase and I just loved seeing all the different cards, especially the ones with pictures. Last year was the first year we were officially a family of three, and I couldn't wait to send out our own family Christmas card. Of course, I was indecisive in terms of what site to use, who I wanted to send them to, whether to have professional photos done, and if not, which pictures to use. Decision-making has never really been one of my strengths. Last minute, I threw something together with a photo we already had from earlier that year and had it printed in the cheapest way possible. It was fun, but to be honest, I wasn't super thrilled with how it came out. I vowed that next year I would start the process earlier, and do a better job with our beloved holiday card.

We decided to have my friend, who is a professional photographer, take a few photos for us and I'm SO GLAD we did. In addition to having pictures taken specifically for our card, I did some more research on sites to use. I stumbled across Basic Invite and knew it was the way to go. If you are AT ALL indecisive like me about this sort of thing, are still trying to figure out what you want to do for your Christmas cards, or are looking to switch things up from your usual, READ ON for 5 things that totally sold me on Basic Invite.

1. Almost UNLIMITED Color Choices
You guys. This part is so much fun. You can literally customize your entire card. Once you find a design you like, you can tweak the colors of each element on the card to OVER 180 different color options. It even provides an instant preview for you of what your card will look like with your tweaks. Basic Invite is one of the few online stationary websites who allows this much customization.

2. Custom Samples
Basic Invite is also one of the few sites that allows you to order a sample of your card [or invite- since they are well-known for their custom invitations as well] before placing your official order. This allows you to get a feel for the paper you chose, the true colors, and full look of your card before making your final decision.

3. Over 40 Different Envelope Colors
NOT ONLY do you get to pick a pretty, coordinating colored envelope to accent your card, but the envelopes are peel and seal which means you don't have to lick a single card- HALLELUJAH.

4. Address Capturing Service
Basic Invite has a service that allows customers to share a link on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or any other social media outlet to request friends and family's addresses which are then stored in the customer's account. They are then able to select these addresses from their account during the design process. Basic Invite offers recipient address printing for free on all holiday card orders.

5. Foil
In addition to all of the amazing customization opportunities, you also have the option to choose a foil holiday card in either gold, silver, or rose gold with Basic Invite. You can choose from flat or raised foil on all of their foil designs.

Although I have hopefully helped make your decision in terms of the site you use for your holiday cards, good luck choosing from their 400+ Christmas/Holiday card designs. ;) If you hurry, they are offering 30% off right now with code holi30!

Here are a few samples of some of their photo holiday cards:

As I mentioned briefly... Basic Invite does way more than just holiday cards. You can use them for any other upcoming event as well whether it be a wedding, a baby shower, or just a festive, holiday party! I'm so excited to get our holiday cards [courtesy of Basic Invite - all opinions are my own] this year and am having the best time designing them.

Happy Holidays!
